 Hello! Welcome to Mountain View School’s webpage. I am the principal, Mrs. Pam Merkel. My educational background includes a B.A. in Spanish from UC Riverside and a master’s degree and administrative credential from CSU Fresno. I have been an educator in the Visalia Unified School District for thirty-two years. I was a teacher at Crowley School for seventeen years and at La Joya Middle School for five years. I was an assistant principal and principal at Houston School for six years. This is my fourth year as principal at Mountain View.
Our mission is all about TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More. Our theme this year is "Healthy Minds + Healthy Bodies = Greater Achievement". We are continuing to implement the Olweus Anti-Bullying program strategies in the 2008-09 year. We are a school that values staff working together with our students and their families, committed to high expectations and increasing student achievement. We welcome parents and others to visit Mountain View and join us on our journey as we become lifelong learners.
