Absences
Please call the school office or write a note in the daily diary if your child is absent.

  Arrival and Dismissal
Please help your child to be at school before the bell rings at 8:20 a.m.  School is dismissed at 2:07 p.m.
On minimum days, school is dismissed at 12:35 p.m.

  Behavior Cards
Our classroom rules are work hard and be nice.  Our school-wide rule is to respect yourself and others.  I believe in positive reinforcement and provide positive feedback and encouragement to students throughout the day.  Students will color what behavior level they earned during the day in the daily diary.
Green Card = Excellent Behavior
Yellow Card = Warning, Behavior Needs Improvement
Orange Card = Parent Contact
Red Card = Principal's Office
Students who have had excellent behavior and completed all homework assignments during the week will be able to participate in choice time on Friday afternoons.

  Book Orders
I will be sending home book orders about once a month.  You can buy inexpensive books for your child's personal library through the book orders.

    Breakfast
All children may eat breakfast free of charge if they are at the cafeteria before 8:00 a.m. each day.

  Daily Diary
Please read the daily diary each night for homework assignments, spelling words, reminders, class news, daily classroom behavior, and notes from me.  Please sign the daily diary each night.  You may write to me in the daily diary.  Your child will bring the daily diary each day in their homework folder.

   Dress Code:
Shoes must have a back, no flip-flops or backless shoes.  Send your child in comfortable clothes for learning and recess.  Clothes should not be oversized and should cover your child's stomach.

  Folders
Your child will bring home a folder each night.  Please check the folder for papers that are to keep at home and papers that need to be returned.

   Healthy Snacks:

Healthy snacks may be sent if you feel that your child will be hungry before our lunch at 12:00 p.m.  Send healthy snacks for your child, such as fruit, crackers, granola bars, and string cheese.  Gum, ramen noodles, cheetos, and candy are not permitted at school.

  Internet Safety
Your child will only have access to approved internet sites that I have reviewed.  They will not be doing independent surfing of the internet.

  Toys
Toys are not allowed at school as they are distracting for the students.
