     SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (SIP) - Union School has an active School Site Council that participates in the development, support, and evaluation of the school plan and budgets.  SIP funds currently are being used to supply supplementary materials, field trips, and equipment.

    GIFTED TALENTED EDUCATION (GATE) - All third grade students are screened for GATE identification.  Prior to screening, any student exhibiting GATE attributes may be referred by a Union staff member.  Gifted and Talented Education services are provided for and coordinated under the District GATE Coordinator.  Students revive differentiated instruction and clustering to meet their needs.

     SPECIAL EDUCATION - Union School is a school based coordinated school, students in the regular education program may receive instruction from special education personnel via small groups and individually to support the core curriculum.  Services at Union School include the following: Resource Specialist Program; Speech and Language; Counseling and Psychological Services; and Adaptive Physical Education.

    STATE FUNDED PRESCHOOL - Preschool students have the opportunity to participate in the state funded preschool program that emphasizes school readiness and social skill development.

    MIGRANT PROGRAM - Migrant support services are provided for and coordinate under the district Migrant Program Specialist. Intervention strategies, extended school year, materials and supplies are provided on an on-going basis.

    SWP/TITLE I - Union School qualifies for Federal Title I funding on a school-wide basis, coordinating the federal funding sources of Title I, Title VI, Migrant, and Eisenhower funds.  Expenditures are made to increase students achievement through additional staff, supplementary books, materials, and equipment that enhances literacy and staff development.

     H.E.A.R.T. Program - The Heart Enrichment Acceleration Recreation Teamwork after school program is state and community funded to provide activities for up to 100 students enrolled in the K-6 grades.
